Paternity
GE Investigations has teamed with a DNA laboratory who is a national provider of paternity testing in the U.S. and has invested heavily in advanced DNA technology to offer highly-accurate and affordable testing through an accredited DNA laboratory (not a test kit).
Sample Collection
Collecting samples for DNA analysis is an easy and painless procedure no
matter if the samples are collected in the privacy of your our own home, or at a
sample collection site. A sterile swab, very similar to a Q-tip, is rubbed on the
inside of the cheek from the child and the alleged father. If practical, the mother
should also be sampled, however this is not mandatory for an accurate
analysis. The swabs are then placed into their corresponding envelopes and
sent back to the lab for analysis.
Three Easy Steps.........
Step 1 - Order a Paternity Test (sampling kit included) or a free Paternity
Sampling Kit from GE Investigations.
Step 2 - Follow kit instructions and collect swab samples.
Step 3 - Fill out sample information cards and return with swab samples in the
self- addressed envelop provided.
Results will be available in approximately 3-5 business days after receipt at
GE Investigations. Guaranteed express results are also available.
Paternity Testing - Private vs. Legal
The type of paternity test you require will depend on the reason(s) you are having the test performed.
If it is simply for peace of mind, you can utilize the private paternity test, however if it is regarding such
areas as child support, child custody, or immigration applications you will want to utilize the legal
paternity test. The primary difference between the two types of tests is the sample collection method.
Private paternity test samples can be collected in the privacy of your own home, without any witnesses,
while legal paternity test samples are collected at an approved collection site, where your identification
will be verified, a photograph will be taken and your sample collection will be witnessed. The purpose of
these stringent procedures is to ensure that the participants are who they say they are.
After you place your order for a legal paternity test, our laboratory will contact you via telephone to
arrange appointments for all parties involved at one of our sample collection sites. To ensure the
utmost convenience, we can accommodate each participant of the same test with separate appointment
times and or locations across the U.S.
If you are utilizing a private paternity test for individuals living in different locations, we can split the kit
up and send each portion to a different address, at no additional charge. Each kit is identified by a
unique laboratory accession number so that all samples can be tested together once received back in
the laboratory. To order a split kit, be sure to add the additional shipping addresses and names in the
comments box on the checkout page.
Paternity Fraud
Paternity fraud or the false identification of a man as the father of a child is a serious problem in the
US and throughout the world. The root of this problem is based in old English law which aimed at
preventing children from being branded illegitimate and assumes that any child born during marriage
is the husband's. Under liberal interpretation, some men are assigned paternity obligations by simply
being named as the father by a woman.
- Over 30% of the children in the United States are born to unwed mothers.
- Approximately 30% of the over 300,000 paternity tests performed annually in the United States
result in exclusion of the alleged individual as the biological father.
- The LA Chapter of the National Coalition of Free Men estimates that there are over 7 million
children in the United Sates that are unknowingly calling the wrong person, Dad.
- Paternity Fraud or the false identification of a man as the father of a child, forces thousands of
men each year to pay for children fathered by other men.
